Kindle Paperwhite

Back in college/uni, I used to cut classes a lot. Some days I don't to go to school completely. I would hang out at bookstores ALL day to read whatever I can get my hands on. Mostly young-adult fiction. I'd sit down on the floor in some hidden corner of the shop and lose track of time. From morning till 7 in the evening. I honestly finished a lot of books but very rarely bought any (student piss poor life). I think it's one of the best memories I have though. Of course skipping classes are terrible and I wouldn't recommend it. Let's just say I'm the type of learner that doesn't learn by listening to lectures or memorising boring factual textbooks. I need to be stimulated first, and reading books written by strangers who's imagination and vocabulary ran wild stimulates me as fuck.
I didn't realise it back then but I developed really good habit of reading. But as we all transition to different stuff, my reading activities grew lesser and lesser until it was no longer part of my life.
https://www.notonthehighstreet.com/klevercase/product/custom-classic-book-case-for-kindle-and-tablet I think it's been 6yrs since I last attended a formal learning establishment. The wiring of my brain is different now, I am actually seeking to learn. And by learn, I mean for starters just get back into reading, haha!
I decided to get Kindle Paperwhite, I've been thinking to buy one for a while now but I'm aware that my gadgets are kinda getting excessive(?) so I put it off. Telling myself I can always read ebooks via iPad. But now that I have Kindle, I can see it really is completely different ballpark.
There is tremendous ease and peace while reading knowing you're not straining your eyes from the screen. Truth be told, if I want to go down this path of more learning/reading I kinda need to put more effort. I've been listening to podcasts as well (specifically Russel Brand's Under The Skin) and I'm really learning a lot, guys. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00MUJUMWK/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3BR0DFNW8M5L1&colid=303N60VA5PX69 Although to be honest, the only reason I can afford to do this now is because I have a stable paying job, so I'm really grateful for that. The work I do doesn't really stimulate me so my mind is seeking food. For now I'd like to focus on Spiritual food because this is a part of myself that I have avoided all my life. As much as there is to learn, I know there are much to unlearn as well.
The first book I bought is The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I've heard so much about this book, so now I'm diving in to find out for myself.

In the end, I settled for the Moleskine folio that has a note pad included for jotting down notes or in my case doodling when inspiration hits. My only compromise is it's black. So I'm looking into getting washi tapes to personalise it somehow. Or maybe a moleskin cover lol, what is this level of capitalism anymore!

Thank you again for taking some of your time to get to know me a little bit. I'd be interested to know your reading adventures too. Or if you use Kindle and have some book recommendations  📖
